At Nudie Jeans, they believe in looking after the environment and the process of growing cotton to produce denim can be highly damaging to our surroundings. It uses great quantities of water and poisonous insecticides are commonly used to fend off bugs and animals and the cotton fields actually use 25% of all the insecticides used across the world. They are tackling this massive problem by developing organic denim that is created from organic cotton and blended fibres. All of the production line is organic from the spinning and dyeing to the ultimate finishing of the material and we use pre-reduced indigo for colour and eliminate any chemical elements through the whole process. By using air and water as well as other natural resources, Nudie jeans can make a difference to the world’s environment by taking care not to damage it by ensuring that the whole production line is organic and not just certain parts. Nudie styles

Denim comes in different styles and there are different ways to care for your Nudie jeans to keep them looking and feeling at their best. It is advisable not to wash your dry jeans for the first six months as the denim and indigo are actually living materials whose characteristics are shaped through everyday wear and act as a second skin. Be careful not to disperse the indigo dye by cleaning localised dirt spots and the best advice Nudie can offer is to let them become you, a naked truth about you. Choose fits that flatter your body shape, like flared jeans if you have wide hips or dark coloured denim if you are trying to hide problem areas. The most durable denim is dry and dark and it will last for years. It is easy to build a string relationship with your jeans and let your passion show by washing them as little as possible and keeping that natural denim look to them. Nudie jeans have an almost water resistant finish that helps them to maintain their appearance and keep their unique character. Caring for your dry Nudies

To keep your dry Nudie jeans for as long as possible, you can higher their life expectancy by following a few simple tips. Always turn them inside out when you are machine washing them to avoid crinkles and it will also help to keep the colour for longer. Avoid bleach as it works against the indigo and if you have to use bleach then just use a small amount. Depending on the colour finish you are after will depend on the heat you should wash them in. For a dark cast, clean them in a 40 degrees wash but for that classic fading effect, it is better to wash them at a higher temperature like 60 degrees. If you truly want to keep a darker look then you can dry clean you Nudie jeans to eliminate the dirt but keep the indigo finish as it is. When they are washed, turn them back into the correct way and shake them so there are no wrinkles and then lay them out flat. Avoid folding them while they are wet and hang them out to dry and you can stretch the inseam as much as required while they are still wet.
